Firearms deer season opens across Minnesota on Saturday, Nov 7. Cook County sits in the 100 series permit areas, where the firearms season runs Nov 7 to Nov 22.

Season dates that cover Cook County:

• Firearms deer (100 series): Nov 7 to Nov 22, 2026
• Archery deer (statewide): Sept 19 to Dec 31, 2026
• Muzzleloader deer (statewide): Nov 28 to Dec 13, 2026

Before you go:

• Check your permit area on the DNR deer map. Antlerless rules (lottery, managed, or bucks only) are set by permit area, and CCNN is not listing them here until each Cook County area is verified against the DNR map.
• Register every deer within 48 hours, and before processing it.
• Licenses and harvest registration run through the DNR electronic licensing system, new this year.
